JIT Core Usage Funding Program
Description of the Program
The Just-In-Time (JIT) Core Usage Funding Program is designed to provide quick access to funding to use the ICTS Cores for research advancing medical knowledge that can improve human health. A Confirmation Form from the Director of the ICTS Core that will provide the requested service(s) is an essential part of the application and must corroborate the service(s) to be provided and the interaction the investigator has had with the Core in determining the relevant services.
Eligibility:
All Principal Investigators applying for this funding must be members of the ICTS. See www.icts.wustl.edu for member eligibility information and registration. Applicants may hold only one JIT Core Usage award at a time and total awarded services may not exceed $5,000 within a 12 month period. In the case of requesting services from the Human Imaging Unit, the maximum allowable request is $10,000 due to the availability of matching funds from the WU Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR).
Objectives:
This program is designed to support a broad range of clinical and translational studies including, but not limited to, the following:
- Pilot data needed to complete an initial but unfunded project
- Pilot data needed for the preliminary results of a proposal for extramural funding
- New direction on a current project not otherwise supported
- Funded projects that did not build costs into the budget for services previously free or subsidized that now carry a fee.
Mechanisms:
Application: Submit both the application form and the ICTS Core Confirmation Form to ICTS@wustl.edu simultaneously. (see links to forms in the sidebar)
Applications received before 5 p.m. CST on the 10th of a month (or the first working day after the 10th), will be reviewed and responded to by the 10th of the next month (or the first working day after the 10th). Those received after the 10th will be held until the reviews of the following month.
Review Process: All proposal will be reviewed by a subset of the members of the ICTS Executive and Operations Committees.
